Is it the minhag to sit or to stand doing the kiddush on erev succos (and jom tov in general)?
Do we bentsh the lulav the first time during shachris or is it the minhag to do it before shachris in the succah?

The classic Minhag Ashkenaz is to say the Brocho in Shul before Hallel. In the recent generations some people said the Brocho in the Sukkoh before Shacharis (Kabboloh influence), but the majority still said it in Shul before Hallel.
