Everyone went to the Mikveh on Erev Rosh Hashonoh and Erev Yom Kippur. Some went to the Mikveh also on Erev Yom Tov. A very small minority went to the Mikveh on Erev Shabbos too. Single people had a Mikveh in their house, and used it often.
The Maharam Merutenburg was Noheg to throw on himself 9 Kabin instead of going to a Mikveh (of course this applies to men only) .

How many times is it the Yekkish minhog to submerge in the mikve? Is there a diference between men and women? (3, 6, 7, 9?)

Women are Touvel 3 times. The Maharil was Touvel 3 times also at Erev Rosh Hashono and Erev Yom Kippur.
