Boruch Hashem Le'oulom - seated or standing ? was created by meirk
The Remo says that when we say Boruch Hashem Le'oulom (maariv) we stand up. The Mishno Beruro says beshem Acharounim that we sit during Boruch Hashem. In Sidur Yaavets - to sit.

Minhag Ashkenaz is to sit during Boruch Hashem Leoulom. There was an inyon not to stand, so people don't think they are Youtze Shmone esre.

Why? I've read Levush wrote this insertion substitutes the Amidah because Arvit was not obligatory tefilloh but voluntary and custom. And one needs to stand and bow like in Amidah. Is it so? Was this insertion made during Ezrah's time? That's why Rambam says to say "omen" in the end of the evening Shmah's brokhot like we do after every Amidah?
